Applying Advanced Sequence Stratigraphic Interpretations to Define Prospects

Scott A. Bowman is our resident sequence stratigrapher. He is a 1994 graduate of Rice University where he studied under Dr. Peter R. Vail. He has helped strengthen the conceptual as well as practical foundation of Sequence Stratigraphy with studies on passive margins, foreland basins, active margins, and growth fault and salt tectonic settings.

He has successfully defined and evaluated prospects using sequence stratigraphic techniques from seismic, well-log and outcrop data in the Tertiary of the Gulf Coast, Niger Delta, Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea, Angola, Brazil, Cretaceous of the Gulf Coast and Western Interior seaway of North America, and Permian stratigraphy of West Texas.

He is familiar with UNIX and is well versed in Landmark and GeoQuest software.
